1893 Elgin National Watch Co Pocket Watch with Fahys Coin Silver case. Marked, "FAHYS Coin No.1 PAT. FEB 19th, 1884 H2149". Crystal intact. Watch works markings include, "Elgin, Ill. 4,848,057 G.M. Wheeler Safety Pinion". (A safety pinion is supposed to protect the watch from damage in case it is wound too tightly.) The website, "Pocketwatch Data Base .com", lists this timepiece as: Model 5. Class 9, 15 jewels, Estimated Production Year 1893.
Notice: These items are located in a basement with no walk-out access. There is a finished wide stairway with a landing and turn midway. Please bring boxes or containers to carry your items up the stairs, and bring help if needed.
The serial number dates the watch to have been made . Case shows signs of use and wear. The domed display case is included.
