The Crosby Gage, Crosby Steam Gage & Valve Co. Boston USA. Date made, Aug 1906. Patents dated 1873 and 1904. Serial number 551807. This is a heavy brass or brass-plated piece with heavy iron or steel backing.
Manufactured by the Crosby Steam Gauge & Valve Company, historically used to measure steam pressure in industrial settings, particularly within steam engines.
