A Jazz vinyl collector's dream--rare records unearthed out in the wild! The jewel in the crown---a 1958 FIRST PRESSING MONO of John Coltrane's "Soultrane". Yellow "Fireworks" Long-Playing Microgroove label, PRLP-7142-A/B etched runout with RVG stamp, 203 S. Washington Ave. Berfenfield, NJ. address. The record itself is in good to very good condition--some finger marks, light dirt, a couple very light marks, likely no audible flaws on either side. Still shiny vinyl. A light cleaning and you have yourself an absolute gem of a find. Jacket grades as fair to good condition, light marks and staining, light fraying on one edge, no splits, no writing.
Up next, Sonny Rollins' "A Night At The Village Vanguard", 1957 ORIGINAL MONO FIRST PRESSING, Deep Groove Blue/White labels, BN-LP-1581 A/B with RVG stamp and "P" in runout. 47 West 63rd NYC address, laminated cover, blank spine. The record is in very good to very good plus(VG/VG+)condition, with only light sleeve marks and dirt, no visible audible flaws. Jacket is in poor to fair condition, with heavy staining and laminate cracks to front, staining and marks on back. Small edge ding. No splits, no writing. Minus the cover issues, this is an amazing find.
Best of the rest, great titles from Chet Baker, Art Farmer, Shelly Manne, Gil Evans, more. The Shelly Manne on the Contemporary label is SEALED(!) The others, as far as the vinyl itself, are in mostly good to very good condition, with light sleeve markings and dirt, an occasional minor pressing flaw. Most have very few to no visible audible flaws. Jackets are in fair to good condition, with marks, staining, seam splits, missing inner sleeves. ALL still very playable copies.
