Group lot of early 20th century creamery-related ephemera including bright orange dairy shipping tags and sepia-tone advertising postcards.

The lot includes multiple unused “Churning Cream” and creamery shipment tags, several addressed to Beatrice Creamery Company, Denver, Colorado and Golden Rod Creamery Co., Omaha, Nebraska. Tags feature bold black graphics on orange stock with fields for shipment details and parcel post markings.

Also included are advertising postcards promoting ice cream and soft drinks, featuring sepia photographic portraits of women with decorative borders and promotional text such as “Ice Cream and Soft Drinks Are Becoming More Popular Every Day” and “Park Your Car.” Cards appear unused with printed backs.


 

Actresses on the cards include: 

Louise Lovely (1895–1980)
An Australian-born silent film actress who worked in Hollywood in the 1910s. She starred in numerous Universal productions and was a recognizable leading lady during the mid-1910s. Her career slowed with the transition to sound.

Gloria Hope (1895–1979)
A silent film actress active primarily in the 1910s. She appeared in a number of Universal and independent productions but did not transition prominently into talkies.

Dorothy Dalton (1893–1972)
A more significant name. She was a major silent film star in the 1910s and early 1920s, frequently starring opposite William S. Hart in Westerns before moving into dramatic roles. She later married theatrical producer Arthur Hammerstein.

Louise Huff (1895–1973)
A well-known silent film actress of the mid-1910s, often cast in ingenue roles. She appeared in films with Jack Pickford and other prominent actors of the period.

Billie Rhodes (1894–1968)
A comedic actress known for short comedies in the 1910s. She also had a career in vaudeville and radio.

Jane Novak (1896–1990)
A prolific silent film actress who appeared in dozens of films between the 1910s and 1920s. She often worked in Westerns and dramas.

Elinor Fair (1903–1957) was a well-known silent film actress who appeared in productions with stars like William S. Hart and Harry Carey. She was quite popular in the early 1920s
