Two early mechanical automobile dash clocks dating from the early 20th century. Includes an 8-day clock by The New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Connecticut, featuring a cylindrical metal case and original dial, typical of dash-mounted or accessory automotive clocks from approximately 1915–1925. Also included is a stem-wind automotive clock by Elgin National Watch Co., with long winding stem and knurled knob, dating to approximately 1928–1938 and designed for dashboard or under-dash mounting. Both clocks show age, wear, and patina consistent with early automotive use. Running condition is unknown. A strong pair of early automobile accessories from two well-known American clock and watch manufacturers.
Condition
Both movements show signs of age and wear. The New Haven movement is missing its crystal. The Elgin movement has its crystal and winding stem.
